The Fitness Habit
February 24, 2019
Fitness is the ground floor of general well-being. We have all been told to exercise more, “just do it,” and get more fit. Fitness is a multi-billion dollar industry built around shame.
And yet, wellness is the foundation upon which our emotions, intellect and spirituality all rest. Getting physically strong allows us to better support ourselves and everyone in our lives.
We don’t think wellness has to be so hard!
Robin Zander and Ben LaCara are lifelong movers. Robin has studied gymnastics for more than a decade and Ben has been weight training since he was 14. Instead of the more typical judgmental approach to exercise, we love fitness, and have created the habits that support our well-being.
Rather than judgement and shame, we apply the principles of behavior change to accomplish our goals. By understanding your “why,” setting clear objectives, taking tiny steps, being kind to ourselves and reevaluating regularly, we have developed long-term habits and routines to achieve our objectives.
Through this 1-day workshop, Ben and Robin will be leading a small group through simple tactics to improve physical well-being and develop long-term habits so that you can continue to improve.
In this workshop, you’ll learn:
- Your own specific fitness goals
- Scientific principles of behavior change
- Recognize your narratives around fitness (and how to change them)
- How to change your habits
- Understanding your “why”
- Building a routine and system to sustain your fitness goals
- Customized fitness plan
- A community of practice
